Dear Sandy,

it was super hard, for us, to hear about your father’s passing days after your wedding last week. when things like this happen it makes me feel blessed to be put in situations where we can still remember those that have passed through moments of time. these photos are just for you. and our prayers for you, Jon, and your family.

Sarah + Vinny

These two had a super quaint and intimate wedding. It was held at Elings Park in Santa Barbara. They had about 20 of their closest friends and family in attendance. It was beautiful, sweet, and full of some gorgeous Santa Barbara fog.

Love this quote.

Kim + Kevin’s Day After Session

When we travel to fun places, we always love to explore. We like to explore even more with our couples the day after their wedding.

We went and explored more of Half Moon Bay with Kim & Kevin the morning after their wedding. It was full on party time like for the 2nd day!

Kim + Kevin’s Wedding

Kim and Kevin got married in Half Moon Bay, CA at Long Branch Saloon & Farm. Ever since we shot Kim & Kevin’s engagement session, we were excited for this one. They really did have a beautiful wedding & fantastic details, but also had great family and friends around them to make such a beautiful weekend. Plus, the Half Moon Bay area around the wedding was just a perfect landscape. When we arrived on Friday it was like super duper windy. But the following day was just too perfect. It made me love the San Francisco area even more. :)

This wedding was actually featured on the amazing Green Wedding Shoes, so go give her some blog love for us!

Janelle + Johnathan’s Hawaiian Elopement

When Janelle & Johnathan contacted us, I was so stoked! I’ve always wanted to shoot a wedding in Hawaii. But to be able to spend a full day with just a couple in Hawaii, felt like a dream come true. It was only my 2nd time ever on the Island of Oahu. The last time on Oahu was with the Mammoth Men, which is always an adventure. I shot a quick portrait/engagement session the night before. We met again at the raddest spot in Hawaii and this is where they actually got married. :)

After that, we were able to explore a ton of the Island of Oahu. They were the best sports and we even stopped a couple times to eat. Most of the places we stopped had meaning to them which made it so fun for me to hear about them and their stories. For instance, one of the last spots was a super rocky area where they actually got engaged and it was super hard to walk on in sandals but was one of the awesomest things to experience on the North Shore. So happy for Janelle & Johnathan and glad to count them as friends since this experience. :)

Carly + Patrice’s Wedding Weekend

02.08.2012 | Weddings | 11 comments

Carly & Patrice got married awhile back in NYC. I’ve had a huge love for this wedding since shooting it and super stoked to share it today. I’ve shared a couple photos on our Sloan Photographers Facebook Page and some here on the blog and blog. I also want to give a massive megaphone shout out to Josh Snyder for coming along with me. He posted some photos, too here.

One thing that amazed me about this wedding was the calmness and persistence of the couple who got married during Hurricane Irene which caused a mess on the east coast, even though it didn’t wreck NYC as much as predicted. We met up with them on Friday for their rehearsal dinner which was amazingly decorated and happened in their backyard of their complex. We shot a little engagement session beforehand.

Nan + Young’s Wedding

Nan and Young’s wedding was at Saddlerock in Malibu. We didn’t know what to expect since we had never shot there before, and we instantly fell in love with it! Kelley from Picture Perfect Events was so sweet and did such an incredible job of taking care of everyone and everything. The day was so laid back. We had so much fun exploring the property while shooting the couple. We also got to work with our favorite video team, Lex and Loren. They did our awesome family video. :) Nan and Young’s video was pretty much amazing!

Kendelle + Scott’s Wedding

Kendelle and Scott held their wedding in the quaint and beautiful St. Helena in Napa Valley. It was really intimate and quite perfect. We got to spend the weekend in one of the most beautiful places in California. There also happened to be a amazing downtown festival on the same street that our Hotel was on that had awesome food and wine tastings. We had such a blast walking the streets, checking out cutes shops, listening to the street music, and tasting food from the restaurants and food trucks.

If you had a chance to see their engagement session, then you know that they are both amazingly talented Disney artists. Which means we are obsessed with them. :) A few weeks ago we got to visit them at work and boy was it a dream come true for us!!! They have become such great friends and we just love that!

The wedding and reception were both held at Meadowood Spa, Golf, and super luxe resort. They really wanted the day to be laid back and smooth. So they hired the super talented One True Love Vintage to take care of all the beautiful details. Amanda really was the best!

This wedding was also featured up on Ruffled: http://ruffledblog.com/backyard-napa-valley-wedding/.

“Love is like sunshine. It brings a golden glow to its beholder’s face. And a warm feeling all over their body. It awakens souls and opens eyes. And when its over, it leaves billions of small memories called stars. To remind the world, that it still exists.”
